Job Title: Children's Home Deputy Manager

Overview:
As a Children's Home Deputy Manager you will play a crucial role in supporting the effective operation and management of our residential children's home. This role involves working closely with the Home Manager to ensure the welfare and development of the children in our care, maintaining high standards of care provision, and leading a dedicated team of staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
Support the Home Manager in overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of the children's home.
Provide leadership and guidance to staff members, including conducting regular supervisions and appraisals.
Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of care staff.
Care Planning and Implementation:
Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans tailored to each child's needs.
Ensure care plans are regularly reviewed and updated in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
Safeguarding and Wellbeing:
As a deputy Manager promote a safe and supportive environment for children, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Monitor and respond appropriately to any safeguarding concerns or incidents.
Administration and Compliance:
Assist in maintaining accurate records, including children's files and administrative documentation.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and inspections, working towards outstanding ratings.
Partnership and Communication:
Build positive relationships with external agencies, families, and professionals involved in the care of the children.
Communicate effectively with children, encouraging participation and involvement in decision-making.
Development and Improvement:
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the service, implementing best practices and innovative approaches.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance personal and team effectiveness.
Skills and Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 Diploma for Children and young People (or equivalent).
Previous experience working in a residential childcare setting, with supervisory or management responsibilities.
Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding principles, and relevant legislation.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
