Zenith Advisory Partners are supporting a well established college in Manchester in their search for their Qualified Assistant Head of Finance.

Reporting into the Head of Finance and working as part of a team of 12, you will be managing the Business Partnering team in providing comprehensive, high quality financial support and information to budget managers throughout the year, including during budget setting, the production of the monthly management accounts and quarterly forecasts, and financial year-end.

The day to day duties of the Assistant Head of Finance will be varied and will include:

Overseeing a team of 2
Providing a comprehensive business partnering service for the College’s capital budget manager to support the delivery of their capital expenditure programme.
Oversee and manage the College’s depreciation and deferred capital grant schedules.
Assist in the development of the annual budget and medium-term financial plan for the College, including liaise with budget managers and the Senior / College Leadership Teams to ensure that plans effectively support the delivery of the strategic and curriculum plan.
Oversee the production of the draft monthly management accounts and quarterly forecast
Lead on the preparation of financial reporting requirements, both internal and external.
Ensure that detailed financial year-end procedures are in place and communicated to all budget managers in a pro-active and timely manner
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious qualified Finance Manager or Finance Business Partner who is looking to take the next step in their career. You will be Qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA), have previous experience of managing a team along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Extensive budgeting experience is required, ideally with the education/public sector.
