The Guildhall Complex is not just a Grade 1 listed landmark at the centre of government in the City of London; it’s also a venue for all manner of occasions, across eleven versatile spaces. Walbrook Wharf is a hive of activity where history meets future and the City’s relentless drive to develop is evident all around. The London Metropolitan Archives is the memory of London itself, preserved in over 100km of books, maps, photos, films and documents.Collaborating closely with the management teams at each facility, you’ll see to it that these extraordinary and important spaces benefit from the planned maintenance, repair and renewal they deserve. Your remit will span fire safety, fabric, grounds, asset replacement, clearing, catering, pest control, porterage, events set-up and, at Walbrook Wharf, security. Whether delivered in-house of by contractors, you’ll ensure work meets the highest standards.To join us, you’ll need a relevant technical (mechanical and electrical) or professional qualification such as RICS, CIOB, CIBSE or BIFM, or an equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience. You will certainly demonstrate substantial working knowledge of hard and soft facilities management services, together with skills in managing the tender, evaluation and delivery of such services. Naturally, you’ll be an expert in industry standards, best practice and legislation. Crucially, you will also bring excellent communication skills to the role – from managing and motivating a high-performing team, to negotiating with contractors, to managing relationships with stakeholders, to writing specifications, technical plans and business cases.When it comes to valuing our people, we have one key goal: to be an excellent employer.
