Location: Kidlington, Home Address (Hybrid)
Rank/grade: TVP Broad Band 5L
Full time
Band 5L, circa £65,442 per annum pro-rata plus benefits
Secondment/Fixed Term Contract
Fixed term contract/Secondment until 31 March 2025
Closing date: 2 June 2024.
A fantastic opportunity for you to bring your communications leadership and expertise into the busy Corporate Communications department at Thames Valley Police (TVP).
At TVP you will find no day is the same; and in this role you would be supporting an organisation that attends 500 incidents a day, takes a million contacts from the public a year and is working hard to be an excellent force, trusted by all our communities.
Because of our force location, with key royal and political residences within our patch, we often find ourselves supporting major international events which, alongside our usual policing service, adds an element of complexity when the eyes of the world are upon us.
You’ll be responsible for teams delivering internal communications and engagement for over 9,000 staff, officers and volunteers, and external and digital communications to the 2.8m residents of the Thames Valley and wider.
You will work strategically, adapting our communications approaches sensitively in response to emerging issues, and using this knowledge to drive effective communications.
You’ll be able to work flexibly across workloads and issues; supporting your teams on proactive communications to build trust with our communities, as well as responding quickly to lead communications on major incidents and working with partners to warn and inform the public.
As part of the Thames Valley Police family you will enjoy a fantastic range of benefits including 30 days annual leave per annum, pro-rata for part time (plus Bank Holidays), flexible working conditions, a wide range of lifestyle discounts, career development opportunities and have the option to join a local government pension scheme.
To apply for this role please attach a CV and covering letter.
