Across tech, finance, legal, corporate development, HR, communications, operations, and many other areas, we work collaboratively and flexibly to help our brands serve their customers and help the company succeed.Job DescriptionWe are currently looking to hire a Deputy Group Financial Controller for our Group Finance team on Fixed-term Contract basis for a duration of 6 months.The Deputy Group Financial Controller, reports to the Group Financial Controller, manages a team of four individuals, and is a key member of the high-profile Group Reporting Team.The role allows for some balance of working from the office (5 Howick Place, Victoria) and from home.Key Responsibilitieso Delivery of a robust, monthly group consolidation to support internal reporting through the Group consolidation system (SAP FC) whilst formalising deliverableso Key leader within the Group Reporting Team who are responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, internal approval and delivery of the financial sections of the Half Year and Year-end external reportingo Key individual liaising and coordinating with the external auditorso Responsible for leading the financial accounting aspects of M&A transactions, involving co-ordinating the work of shared service centre (SSC) teams and leading and co-ordinating acquisition accounting activitieso Responsible for leading the Group Finance accounting aspects of legal entity restructurings within the group, involving planning and co-ordinating work activities involving the Group Tax team and SSCso Supporting the application of IFRS across the Group, involving providing technical accounting guidance to Divisions, SSCs and other Group functions accounting undertaken across the Groupo Key team member involved in pro-actively ensuring the Group’s financial accounting and reporting remains compliant with IFRS and related FRC guidanceo Supporting the development of the Group Accounting Policy manual and for providing technical accounting guidance to SSCs and Divisional Finance teamsQualificationsRecognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA or ACCA), ideally from a big 4 firmStrong IFRS technical accounting experience, including M&A accountingMultiple years of experience gained across audit and large-listed company environmentsManaging and directing teams in a highly dynamic environmentSkills & AbilitiesThis position is viewed as role for an aspirational, high achieving, individualExperience of managing teams of technically strong accountantsFlexible and comfortable in a changing, growing environmentSelf-starter with ability to work on their own initiative and deliver changeResults, product and achievement oriented to high standardsStrong organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise work tasksFast and responsive - working to tight deadlinesProven communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact at all levelsTeam player, maintaining close working relationships with relevant employees of the business in order to achieve objectivesAbility to listen and willingness to take on new ideasStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong influencing skills, including the ability to communicate complex financial technical matters to non-technical peopleKnowledge of various planning and consolidation systems and ability to extract dataIT confident with good spreadsheet skills.Ability to listen and willingness to take on new ideasKeen to self-develop and take on new opportunitiesAdditional informationWe work hard to make sure Life at Informa is rewarding, supportive and enjoyable for everyone.
