You will be responsible for a team of 26 highly collaborative talented individuals, reporting into the General Manager, deputising in their absence. The role would be very suitable for candidates with hotel or conferencing background, chef management or previous experience commensurate with this role.If you are a Deputy General Manager who thrives on delivering extraordinary experiences, and loves to inspire a harmonious and collaborative team, we would love to hear from you!Job DescriptionSupporting the day-to-day operations of the location, including recruiting and selecting employees that meet the needs of the location and BaxterStoreyAssessing employee performance, recognising potential, and meeting their training needs as appropriateSupport to achieving financial targets agreed with the client within the budget and monitoring the work of the location teamHolding regular team meetings to communicate targets, required standards, company, and client informationCollaboratingand supporting with the location General Manager to prepare budgets, maintain food costs, and maximise commercial opportunitiesSupporting the General Manager in developing and evolving client services at the location, regularly making adjustments and improvements as neededProviding prompt and efficient customer service while consistently exceeding expectationsMonitoring customer feedback and producing an action plan based on the resultsEnsuring all food is presented and served in line within BaxterStorey’s standards, using innovation in the method and style of presentation and food serviceAssisting with recruiting appropriately skilled employees, assessing their performance, meeting their training needs including monitoring any poor performance and taking apparated step to rectifyQualificationsPrevious experience commensurate with rolePassion for food and customer serviceYou draw satisfaction from managing, training, and supporting a teamFinancially astute, you are very analytical and know how to support your manager withbudgets and drive commercial performanceExcellent delegation and influencing skillsAbility to prioritise multiple projects in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, creative environment and able to work well under pressureMeticulous organisational abilities; high attention to detailConcise and effective verbal and written communicationAbility to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspectiveExcellent strategic thinking and critical reasoning skillsWorks according to the BaxterStorey core valuesAdditional InformationFor almost 20 years, for every client, in every location (whether that’s an office, stadium, cathedral or university), we have created beautiful spaces, exciting menus and friendly teams, so that each and every customer can have the hospitality experience they deserve.We need the brightest and the best to join us to make this all possible.
