Leadenhall Search are pleased to be representing a prestigious client in London searching for their next Deputy General Counsel.Our client, is a strategic intelligence and advisory firm headquartered in London, with a global reach. It specializes in providing confidential counsel to corporations, governments, and investors on geopolitical risk, market insights, and business strategy.Working with blue-chip clients, the firm operates discreetly, leveraging its extensive network of contacts and deep analysis to navigate complex challenges and opportunities worldwide. Trusted for its discretion and expertise, the group assists clients in making informed decisions in areas ranging from market entry to crisis management, blending intelligence with strategic foresight. They also have a substantial investments arm to the business.The role would report directly to the General Counsel and depending on experience the role can be offered at Deputy General Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel level.The role:Risk-reviewing potential client projects;Providing internal advice on commercial issues, and legal and regulatory risks;Translating complex information into actionable advice for non-legal stakeholders;Collaborating with non-legal teams to advance the firm’s risk-related strategic initiatives;Monitoring and advising on legal and regulatory developments that may have impact on the firm’s policies and procedures; andPreparing and helping draft guidance and training to colleagues.The client is looking for:Prior legal experience either in private practice, in-house, or at a UK/EU government agency, or a combination thereof;.Some regulatory experience is strongly preferred;.A proven track record of advising on commercial issues, as well as on legal and regulatory risks;.An ability to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution;.Demonstrated success in executing against clear goals in a fast-paced environment;.Excellent written and oral communications skills, and an ability to convey key points clearly and succinctly to both legal and non-legal stakeholders; andJD or LLM and active bar membership.Candidates interested in part-time employment will also be considered.The responsibilities and work would be varied with a focus on commercial, regulatory, public policy and procurement law.
