CY Executive Resourcing are excited to be partnering with Wye Valley NHS Trust, to appoint a Deputy Finance Manager to support the provision of an effective financial management service.This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking and ambitions NHS Trust, who are committed to improving the health and well-being of the people of Herefordshire and surrounding areas.Supporting the Senior Finance Manager, and leading a small team, the post-holder will be responsible for ensuring effective use of financial resources for specific divisions within the trust, including budget setting, financial planning, forecasting, monthly monitoring and reporting within agreed timetables.Key responsibilities:Support the Senior Finance Manager in providing high quality financial information, advice and support to Divisional ManagementLead the month end close down process for the team, according to timescales, and ensure that robust draft financial information is available for reviewLead responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of recharging mechanisms to improve budgetary controlMeet regularly with budget managers to ensure the financial position of the division and the Trust is understoodInfluence budget managers to ensure achievement of divisional financial objectivesTake responsibility for some aspects of budgetary management as delegated by the Senior Finance ManagerTake a lead role in the annual budget setting processSupport in the delivery of financial balance for the division and for the management/monitoring of cost improvement and cost control programmesSupport in the final production, interpreting, forecasting and reporting of the financial position of the divisionAssist budget managers in identifying and achieving cost improvement targets, income generation targets and ensuring value for moneyProvide regular financial advice and support to the Divisional Management on sometimes complex and confrontational issuesSupport in the development of new costing and budgeting methodologies to provide information for both managerial and commercial purposesSupport in reviewing the division costs relative to national normsProvide input as required to the Trust's statutory financial reportsWork with the Senior Finance Manager to provide robust financial risk evaluations of business cases and service developments, and analyse the financial impact of capital equipment proposalsThe role would suit a resilient and credible individual with excellent communication and stakeholder holder engagement/management skills. You will have prior experience of line managing small teams, and liaising with and influencing budget holders.Candidates should be fully qualified or exam qualified accountants, with experience of working within the NHS, wider public sector, or similarly large organisations, and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a complex and fast paced environment.Part qualified candidates may also be considered.This is a hybrid role.
