An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with and lead a dynamic and high-profile team in a 6-month secondment as a Deputy Divisional Director of Nursing within the Medicine and Long-term conditions division here at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. The post requires someone with the ability to think and act strategically, set direction in a complex environment, and manage relationships with a wide range of senior colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team. You will be required to be able to demonstrate a high level of analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, and a strong understanding of clinical specialty management and patient safety, quality care assurances across several specialties at once. You will need to be able to manage multiple competing priorities at one time whilst also demonstrating compassionate leadership.Main duties of the jobYou will need to be enthusiastic and driven, with the willingness to go the extra mile to achieve what is required for our patients and your services. You will be educated to a master's level or equivalent and have demonstrable and credible experience of senior management roles in the health sector. With excellent communication skills you will need to be able to establish your credibility at all levels internally and externally and be able to quickly build relationships within your own team and the wider organisation. Demonstrating a resilient and flexible can-do attitude and a strong focus on high delivery of quality, safe patient care is essential. The Deputy Head ofNursing will work under the supervision of the Divisional Director of Nursing and in partnershipwith the Care Group Managers and Clinical Directors and Leads to provide strong and effectiveleadership to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services to clinical users andpatients.The post holder will have direct line management of the Clinical Matrons and CNSs forDermatology and Endoscopy under their structure. They will provide leadership to theseindividuals ensuring processes are in place to set objectives, monitor performance and agree,review and deliver personal development needs.Person SpecificationQUALIFICATIONSEssential
Registered Nurse with Current NMC Registration. Master's degree in Nursing or evidence of study at this level Management Qualification or equivalent management experience Demonstrates evidence of ongoing continuous professional development

TRAINING & EXPERIENCEEssential
Minimum of five years' experience working operationally as a senior clinical nurse A broad and well developed understanding of nursing and midwifery policy Experience of working across other NHS organisations Experience of successfully managing many services including people and budgetary management Demonstrable experience of successful change management Experience of providing clinical advice to and liaising with, managers and staff at all levels Understanding diversity and equality issues and how they impact on services Understanding of NMC Code and requirements of it for the practice & behaviour and its application to the management of staff and self Effective understanding of the multidisciplinary team and how the roles and team can function to maximise quality, efficiency and motivation Evidence of engaging in research activities
