With a focus on patient-centred care, innovation, and acute surgical and medical expertise, we strive to deliver unparalleled healthcare experiences for all our patientsAbout the Role:As the Deputy Chief Nursing Officer (DCNO), you will work in close collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to ensure the highest standards of patient care and nursing practice. Your leadership will be crucial in overseeing clinical operations, driving quality improvement initiatives, and cultivating a culture of excellence and innovation within our nursing team.Key Responsibilities:Clinical Leadership: Oversee daily clinical operations and ensure delivery of exceptional patient careQuality Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance patient outcomes through evidence-based practices and continuous improvement.Strategic Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans to achieve organisational goals.Resource Management: Efficiently manage nursing resources to ensure optimal staff performance and patient care.Policy Development: Develop and enforce policies that uphold the hospital’s standards and regulatory requirements.Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with various healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.Advocacy and Support: Promote a positive and inclusive work environment, supporting the professional growth and development of nursing staff.Education, Qualifications, and Training:Qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN)Current NMC RegistrationEducated to Degree level in a health-related subject or equivalent.Educated to Master’s degree level in a health-related subject or equivalentEvidence of continuous professional development (CPD)Knowledge and Experience:Significant relevant UK-based clinical experience at a senior level in a complex acute healthcare environmentSubstantial experience in nursing management within a UK-based healthcare setting, with a track record of leadership roles beyond matron level, including positions at divisional management level or equivalent.Proven experience in leading and managing diverse teams to ensure excellent standards of service delivery.Champion for excellent patient care and qualityFinancial management, business, and service planning skillsIn return, we offer:Complimentary lunch35 days of Annual Leave (inclusive of bank holidays) that increase with long serviceCompany pension schemeOn-going training and professional development opportunitiesSeason Ticket LoanHelp to buy a bikeFree Employee Assistance ProgrammeWhy Join Us?At King Edward VII’s Hospital, we are dedicated to providing compassionate care and exceptional medical services.
