Morgan Hunt require a Deputy Catering Manager for NHS based in Central LondonHours 37.5 9am to 5pm Mon to FriLocation: Central LondonDuration: 6 months on going contractMain purpose of the jobTo lead and manage all catering services at the Trust . The post holder will be part of the senior facilities management team and will be expected to be involved in managing catering functions across the entire Trust site. The successful candidate will ensure, through sound fiscal management, that services are delivered within tight budgetary control for both internal and external contracts and the requirements of the Trust in line with Government initiatives, Trust objectives and financial efficiency targets.They will be responsible for the development of Patient and Retail Catering operations and for ensuring that the Trusts environment is safe for patients and staff. They will provide expert advice on a range of Catering issues, develop and maintain close working relationships with the operational clinical teams and deliver a compliant and value for money service for all areas within the Catering Department remit.Main duties and responsibilities:OperationalTo assist in the leadership and management of the patient and retail catering arrangements across the Trust.Support in the management of the in-house catering team ensuring operational continuity 365 days per yearLead catering review meetings, catering services and maintain an action log of such meetingsManagement of supply chain, taking the lead when specifying and tendering new supply contracts.To work with stakeholders and Dietetics in menu planning and implementation.To maintain and encourage high personal and professional standards amongst colleagues and to act as a role model for managers, supervisors and frontline staffAssist in the formulation of an integrated Annual Service Plan, with clear strategic and business objectives, that are consistent with the Trust's strategic objectives, that reflect best practice and is affordable.Ensure rigorous service performance monitoring, management and review arrangements are in place and that all remedial actions are identified and undertaken where necessary.Working with the Head of Catering to maintain effective financial management and forecasting systems, ensuring that optimum budgetary performance is achieved and that Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions are always followed.Implement Policies & long-term strategies for the Catering Services including service development.Collect, review, interpret and act on relevant data for performance management, service quality and central reporting services.Ensure that 24 hour / 7-day management and on-call arrangements are in place for all services and that there is a contingency plan, e.g., major incident or internal emergency.Work alongside the Space & Place Directorate to ensure operational compliance with catering standards and provide professional advice as required for both decant and commissioning.Work with the Senior Management team, contractors etc; dealing with highly complex communication demandsEnsure the delivery of regular reports to department heads, specialist information to individuals without detailed knowledge and understanding, specialist negotiation skills.Undertake regular visits to all areas of the Trust which would include physical audits of the service provisionTo work closely with the Associate Director and provide management support when required.To deputise for the Head of Catering when required.To ensure that the highest level of food Safety (inc.
