Depot Transport Supervisor / Manager

CLIENT My client is a growing organisation in the recycling and waste management sector. They are engaged in waste management services. With their own recycling and transport facilities they can offer a full and comprehensive recycling service to potential customers. MAIN DUTIES You will be responsible for a small fleet of vehicles Give work instructions and monitor the performance of drivers and operatives, i.e. briefing/debriefing during course of working day Ensure safe vehicle operations, wheel security, monitor vehicle gross weights etc. Ensure fleet compliance with transport and environmental legislation Contribute toward on-going cost control, actively seeking to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs Ensure that all aspects of Health & Safety are adhered to, including H&S induction and training, operating procedures, near miss reporting and emergency procedures Ensure team complete all tachograph records and feedback on any infringements. You will have a good knowledge of legislation (CPC Road Haulage / ADR training would be ideal) EXPERIENCE You will have excellent planning skills You will be extremely committed and have stability in previous roles You will have had experience in some capacity a transport role e.g, fleet, dispatch, distribution or logistics operation. You may have been a Logistics Supervisor / Distribution Planner / Dispatcher / Multi Drop Courier / Traffic Controller / Military Logistics Officer You will have excellent IT skills and a good working knowledge of MS Office, ideally working with formulas on Excel. Ideally Waste management / Recycling experience Good communication and organisation skills.
