Description
My client is going through an exciting transformation across their business, to ensure they remain innovative, competitive, and consistently delivering exceptional services and products to their customers.
This opportunity will offer full autonomy in the role to build and develop your team, searching for and implementing efficiency, developing better ways of working, to further improve the overall customer experience.
The successful candidate will be able to coordinate a fleet of 7 vehicles (3.5t maxi vans) and ensure and maintain compliance in all aspects of the Transport legislation including EU and UK domestic rules. You must have good communication skills, basic Health and Safety knowledge and be able to manage a team efficiently.
40 hrs per week - Monday to Friday 0600am to 1800pm
Key Responsibilities:
To advise/ teach staff on safe and proper operating procedures, relevant checks, promoting best practice.
Maintain accurate staff and vehicle records
To assess and directly support the Warehouse operation
Ensure that all fleet and driver records are compliant with all aspects of DVSA
People management, such as performance reviews, staff development, disciplinary and grievance handling
Skills & Experience 'Required:
Management CPC / OLAT qualification is desired but
not essential
Logistics operations and management
Be able to demonstrate ability to cope in challenging situation
Strong attention to detail.
You may have previous experience of working as site manager, shift manager or team manager
Experience of managing or working in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Effective communication skills and proven ability to motivate and manage a team of people.
IT literate with knowledge of WMS systems.
Responsibility for P&L
Able to cope with change and manage own workload and priorities.
Knowledge of relevant H&S, HR legislation and good practice
