An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, ambitious and forward thinking individual to join the North Wales Dental Service. The successful candidate will work alongside the dental contracting team, key colleagues within the North Wales Dental Service and across a wide range of stakeholders, using excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills to support the implementation of the North Wales Dental Service Dental Commissioning Strategy and the delivery of Welsh Government priorities by supporting all aspects of Primary Care Dental Contracting. The way dental services are contracted and delivered are changing across Wales with many great initiatives in North Wales that make this an exciting time to join our service and develop both yourself and the service. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.Main duties of the jobThe role will support the commissioning and operational management of primary care dental contracts within North Wales and will require excellent written and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with independent primary care dental providers and their representatives. The role will be responsible for managing agreed operational aspects of specified GDS/PDS contracts and will include interpreting complex data, contract monitoring and communicating information on service delivery to contract holders.

Significant experience of Primary Care contracting Experience and understanding of evaluating and measuring the performance of health services.
SkillsEssential
Understanding of the detailed statutory obligations of Health Board and NHS legislation with regard to dental primary care contracting. Clear communication skills with excellent writing, report writing and presentation skills capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences. Ability to interrogate, analyse and interpret complex data (activity and financial) and information in relation to contract performance, and recommend an appropriate course of action to address issues. Ability to extract key messages from complex analysis. Facilitation, influencing and negotiating skills to manage difficult, complex and sensitive situations where there may be a disagreement of views and achieve outcomes consistent with meeting objectives. Ability to prioritise work and work effectively against a background of change and uncertainty.
