Our client is a global leader in food manufacturing selling products in over 100 countries with 25 factories worldwide. They are a great company to work for offering excellent career progression and job satisfaction. They are currently looking for a Demand Planner to be based at the head office in Hammersmith, West London.
Demand Planner Job role
The demand planner ensures that they answer to the customer needs within the financial and organizational constraints of the business.
The successful candidate needs to be able to build strong relationships across the commercial and customer supply departments, from which information is gathered, assessed and collated to create an accurate demand Forecast, and then communicated both internally & externally.
The role will be to manage customer demand, stocks and orders for the ambient products, in the most cost effective way, while maintaining minimum stock levels.
• Be the main supply contact with other departments, logistics suppliers, customer supply department and other subsidiaries in the group.
• Responsible for all order processing
• Liaise with customers to manage any delivery discrepancies
• Manage forecast and stock for other subsidiaries with who they work in pull flow
• Communicate and help factories in Europe, which are working in push flow, to understand the UK market and provide them with information about the UK activity.
• Help to support and manage new launches, promotions, seasonal uplifts i.e. Easter, Christmas
• Define and set up organization required to achieve service and waste level with an optimum stock level

Demand Planner Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will either have experience of working in a similar role - and therefore will be aware of the expectation to be professionally mature and be able to demonstrate the ability to influence, convince and motivate others within the business and within retailer partners – or be a graduate with a Supply Chain or otherwise analytical degree.
They should be commercially aware with a very real understanding of the personal attributes that are required to succeed in this position to include, tenacity, working to challenging deadlines and in a changing environment with the ability to problem solve and bring thought out and creative solutions using limited resources.
The individual will be highly analytical accompanied by a simple and impassioned communication style.
Demand Planner Background
• Analytical: it is vital to successful forecasting as the successful candidate is required to study the raw data from company systems or the retailer to foresee the tendencies or explain the problems.
• A commercial thinker, able to communicate with customers and create good relationships is a key to success.
• Good common sense: supply chain is mathematics applied to common sense, and choosing the right priorities in your daily tasks is essential.
• Ability to take initiative, and propose ways to work better
