Nelson’s Demand Planner
Nelson’s is on an exciting journey of volume & value growth and is investing in its future. We’re looking for a skilled Demand Planner to work cross functionally to build a realistic & robust volume forecast that feeds into our S&OP process. Join our team and contribute to the Demand Planning process within a commercial region.
As a member of the Demand Planning team, you'll be responsible for building a realistic and robust volume forecast, essential for financial cash-up and supply chain planning on a monthly basis. Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to incorporate a longer-term strategic forecast. Participate in volume meetings within the S&OP process and work closely with supply chain to ensure customer service levels are met through optimizing stock holding at the local DC.
Key Responsibilities:
Taking ownership of demand planning processes, policies and strategy, with a commitment to continual development and improvement, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Utilize demand planning software (DSx) to maintain a rolling 3-year volume, monthly volume & new product forecasts, incorporating statistical forecasting techniques and fully utilizing DSx functionality for objective projections.
Collaborate with regional teams to integrate market/category performance and intelligence into the forecast, leveraging key customer sell-out (EPOS) and inventory data to ensure accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives.
Analyse forecast accuracy results (MAPE, Bias & Evolution) using DSx, conducting thorough root cause analysis on major variances and implementing necessary changes to improve forecasting precision.
Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and maintain data essential for volume forecasting and S&OP processes, ensuring effective communication and alignment of forecasted volumes with strategic plans.
Proactively identify exceptional or unplanned demand, collaborating with the supply chain team to secure supply and mitigate any potential disruptions to the forecasted volumes.
Partner with Finance, Brand, Sales, and Product teams to gather insights and ensure alignment of forecasts with overall business strategies and initiatives.
Requirements
Proven demand planning experience, comfortable with forecasting processes & utilising forecasting software
A true collaborator & influencer, able to build strong relationships with key Stakeholder & Partners
Demonstrable experience utilising data & analytics, with a strong understand of statistical forecasting & fundamentals.
Broader supply chain experience such as supply planning, inventory management & logistics is advantageous, but not essential
Experience in Retail, FMCG or Healthcare industries is also preferable, but not essential
