Salary: £45,000 - £62,000 Basic + Benefits
Our client, a globally recognised, prestigious society publisher, requires a new Data Visualisation Analyst, Publishing. This new role delivers data insights that drive strategic decisions in the Publishing section.
You will collate data on KPIs that measure journal performance, guide the actions of the team and build dashboards that visualise KPI data. With strong analytical skills and a focus on business intelligence, the role holder will create actionable insights to enable improvement of the existing business and development of new products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Collate, clean and provide high-quality data across the Publishing section
Build analytical data structures, models, reports and insights that contribute to strategy and journal performance
Create dashboards which visualise KPI data in an easy-to-understand form for the team
Identify and implement process improvements on an on-going basis
Ensure consistent use of data systems across the Publishing section
Map data sources across systems used by the Publishing section and create work flow diagrams
Prepare and present clearly understandable analyses via Excel, PowerPoint and other relevant software to key stakeholders
Create market segment analysis, as directed
Liaise with other teams within the Society on data issues
Undertake other analytic tasks as directed by the Head of Sales and Marketing
Skills & Experience:
Experience in STM journal publishing and familiarity with Open Access business models is desirable
Ability to gather, clean and analyse large data sets
Data modelling and data visualisation from raw data, including the development of user-friendly dashboards
Advanced Excel skills are essential including formula construction, add-ins and VBA
Experience working with Tableau/Power BI, APIs and SQL or similar programming is highly desirable
Commercial focus, able to prioritise and work to deadlines
Ability to present findings to internal and external stakeholders
