About the Role
In this role, you will be a driving force behind the analytical tools that help guide the company's technological and commercial strategies. You will be responsible for:
???? Enhancing virtual tools to simulate real-world dynamics for novel ship designs.
???? Collaborating with the engineering team to identify physics and formulae representing real-world scenarios.
???? Sourcing, collecting, cleaning, and transforming data from various sources.
???? Developing and implementing statistical methods or machine learning models to analyse data and identify trends.
???? Integrating and sourcing data from APIs.
???? Communicating complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences through compelling presentations.
You are a perfect fit if you have:
???? A degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
???? Strong programming skills in Python (NumPy, Pandas), SQL, and Excel.
???? Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
???? Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
???? The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
???????? The right to live and work in the UK (essential).
Bonus points for:
???? Familiarity with the maritime industry.
???? Open-source contributions or personal data science projects.
???? Experience in designing and implementing machine learning models.
???? Web development experience.
Location
Remote (UK-based), however, close proximity to Portsmouth/Southampton is considered a plus for occasional in-person meetings.
