Data Scientist - Manager

Cognizant is recruiting a Data Scientist, the hybrid role comes with an excellent salary and benefits package.
In your first few weeks in this Data Scientist role, you can expect to:
Gather business requirements, perform detailed analysis, and produce associated functional specifications across multiple functions
Construct SQL queries, report and visuals, using technology like Tableau, for exploratory data analysis
Develop and test models using ML model to generate predictive insights
Essential Criteria must be clearly demonstrated on CV
In depth commercial experience with Azure, AWS or Google Cloud IaaS/PaaS in area of data preparation/integration and ML model constructions.
Experienced with structured and unstructured data and proficient with good with Hypothesis formulation, data preparation and model building.
Experience in combining qualitative and quantitative datasets.
Experienced in either programming languages such as Python and/or R, data visualization tools such as Tableau.
Experience in creation of B/FRDs Good documentation and communication with the technology team both to provide requirements and understanding of any issues is paramount.
Very strong Excel, SQL, Python/R, JIRA skills.
Project planning and tracking, including agile software i.e. JIRA.

Proficient with Data concepts and handling variety of datasets, good with hypothesis formulation, data preparation and model building.
Should possess enough proficiency with Statistical & ML model building using R and/or Python languages (generalized linear models, logistics/linear Regression, Tree based and Boosting models, Decision trees, Random Forest, XGBoost etc.- Basic understanding of Neural network and deep learning models).
Possess experience with Machine learning/Pattern recognition areas.
Should possess basic Data Engineering experience to ingest, cleanse and collate data from a wide range of internal and external sources.
Decent SQL querying skills and good experience with Tableau or any visualization tools.
Experience facilitating workshops and discussions to effectively gather requirements and understand the clients business challenges.
Able to produce proposed implementation plans for data analysis work, including estimated effort and technical implications of data insight products.
Able to review and comment on models for example pointing out why models are defective and suggesting improvements.
Clear written and verbal communications; able to communicate with a wide range of people.
Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills with a passion for data-driven decision making and for establishing best practice.
Line management experience - able to give feedback and mentor more junior colleagues.
