Data Quality Assurance OfficerBand 3Job overviewWe have a rare and exciting opportunity to join a newly created in-house Data Quality Validation Team, that will be responsible for the validation of all patient pathways. The Trust is making a significant investment in the team with the creation of 17 new posts.This is a new model and provides a chance to be part of shaping the future of validation in preparation for the new EPR (Electronic Patient Record).You will be joining the Team at an exciting time and will take a lead role in ensuring that the Trust has high quality data to support the delivery of the highest quality of care to patients and for performance reporting.Applicants will have a good standard of general education including GCSE English and Maths or equivalent and an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office based systems. Strong attention to detail is essential. The applicant will need to demonstrate they have good communication skills and be an excellent team player who enjoys learning. Ability to demonstrate that they have used a variety of different systems in either other roles or educational establishments is also required. NHS experience in a relevant field such as Patient Administration or Data Quality would be preferred but not essential.Applications from all job backgrounds are welcome as a full training package will be provided along with continuous support and career progression opportunities both within the Data Quality team, the Trust and the wider NHS.Main duties of the jobThe main duties of the role centre around the undertaking of data validation and updating data within Trust systems, primarily within the PAS (Patient Administration System. Expediting patients for further action.You will identify any themes in data recording issues and refer onwards for action to support “right first time”.This is a new team that will compromise of 14 Data Quality Assurance Officers, 2 Data Quality Assurance Team Leaders and 1 Data Quality Assurance Harm Lead that will work closely alongside the already established Data Quality Assurance Team. that compromises of the following, the Data Quality Assurance Team at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust comprises of a Data Quality Assurance Manager, an Assistant Data Quality Assurance Manager, a Data Quality Assurance Team Leader, 3 Data Quality Assurance Business Partners and 4 Data Quality Assurance Officers, working across all sites.The Department offers a flexi-time scheme, along side working from home part of the week once training is complete.Working for our organisationDBTH is one of Yorkshire’s leading acute trusts, serving a population of more than 440,000. Please ensure you read both documents carefully.Please note, if your application is successful you will be required to present original certificates of qualifications that are listed in the person specification under essential.Person specificationExperiencePrevious relevant NHS experience of working in a patient administration role or equivalent and able to demonstrate a good understanding of patient flowsGood understanding of 18 week principles including RTT measurementProven experience of using Outpatient, Inpatient and Waiting List modules of the Patient Administration System (PAS) to an intermediate levelAbility to analyse and interpret complex data within core systemsExperience of data handling, including source data, data collection and inputting of data, demonstrating competency to an advanced levelKnowledge of clinical pathwaysExperience of undertaking audits.QualificationsECDL or equivalent qualification or relevant experienceEnglish and Maths GCSE or equivalent qualification or relevant experienceWell-developed keyboard and computer skillsQi Training Course undertaken / participation in a service improvement projectInterpersonal SkillsClear communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
