Role: Data Protection Officer
Location: Motherwell, UK
The role and what youll be doing :
We’re committed to ensuring that our customers’ data is protected and that our work complies with data protection legislation. We’re seeking a data protection officer to help our management of potentially sensitive information, conduct regular internal security audits, and serve as the main point of contact between the business and data protection authorities.
You will monitor internal compliance, inform, and advise on our data protection obligations, provide advice regarding Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and act as a contact point for data subjects and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

You will monitor internal compliance, inform, and advise on our data protection obligations, provide advice regarding Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and act as a contact point for data subjects and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Key Responsibilities: –
· Provide expert advice and educate our colleagues on important data compliance requirements.
· Identify and evaluate the data processing activities within the business.
· Collaborate with key stakeholders to draft new and amend existing internal data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures.
· Implementing measures and a privacy governance framework to manage data use in compliance with the GDPR, including developing templates for data collection, assisting with data mapping, and vendor management reviews.
· Conduct audits to ensure compliance and to address potential issues.
· Maintain records of all data processing activities of the company
· Serve as point of contact for data protection authorities.
· Monitor our ongoing ability to remain data compliant.
· Monitor data management procedures and compliance within the business.
· Participate in meetings with managers to ensure privacy by design at all levels.
· Maintain records of processing operations.
· Ensure we address all queries from data subjects within legal timeframes (e.g. delete their information from our databases).
· Liaise with other organisations that process data on our behalf.
· Advise and consult with senior leaders on data security laws.
· Offer consultation on how to deal with privacy breaches.
· Arrange for training on GDPR compliance for colleagues.
· Follow up with changes in law and issue recommendations to ensure compliance.
