Reports To: Global Data Protection Manager
Purpose of the role:
Reporting to the Global Data Protection Manager, the role holder will assist the Global Privacy Office in ensuring that the business meet privacy obligations within the UK Hub jurisdictions, consisting of
UK, Germany, South Africa, Middle East and India.

They own and produce over 400 exhibitions and shows in 22 countries, bringing together over 7 million people from across 43 different industry sectors, to help them build their businesses and grow their local economies. Key Responsibilities:
Supporting Global Privacy Office in providing the business high-quality, timely and solution-led advice on all aspects of privacy and data protection compliance covering UK, Germany, South Africa, Middle East and India, including GDPR and ePrivacy Directive;
Leading on the completion of DPIAs / PIAs and other privacy risk assessments to assess the impact of proposed changes to business processes and agree appropriate mitigating actions with Risk Owners;
Measuring and tracking privacy compliance activity and communicating privacy risks and business unit compliance maturity status to the Business Unit Board and Global Privacy Office;
Embedding requirements, processes and standards set by the Global Privacy Office; this includes the implementation of a Business Unit privacy and data protection compliance project that dovetails into the Global Privacy and Data Protection Compliance Programme;
Reviewing and drafting of privacy notices and supplementary notices relevant to specific processing activities;
Updating of the data inventory and reviewing of data flows;
Delivering tailored privacy compliance training in conjunction with the Global Privacy Office;
Assisting in, and review of rights requests and associated processes;
Defining and implementing processes to improve privacy compliance, in conjunction with key corporate functions (e.g. procurement, legal etc…);
Assisting in audit reporting processes; and
Maintaining an effective and engaged network of privacy champions and key stakeholders within the business unit to drive and embed a culture of privacy.

We are looking for a candidate with extensive data protection knowledge and 3+ years’ experience in a commercial environment. Such knowledge and experience should include:
Extensive working knowledge of the applicable local legislation such as GDPR and e-Privacy Directive with the ability to analyse legislative requirements and relate these to organisational practices and solutions;
Deep understanding of online platforms, systems, big data and processes;
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills to identify, assess, prioritize and communicate any risks in a timely and appropriate manner;
Strong ability to engage effectively and create buy-in with all levels of the organisation;
Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as the ability to use appropriate channels and formats, such as reports, presentations, dashboards, or meetings, to convey key messages clearly, concisely, and persuasively;
Ability to provide clear and effective communication and reporting on changes and issues;
A highly visible champion in the business with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm that inspires others;
Ability to move at pace and use different improvement strategies appropriate to the scope of work;
Ability to take control and exercise leadership;
Well organised and efficient, with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines;
Ability to work effectively and supportively within a global team; and
Ability to travel as needed.
Qualifications:
Fluency in English and German is required.
CIPP/E, CIPM or other officially recognised privacy certification is desired.
