The organisation already have a great Data Privacy posture and are looking to build on their already impressive infrastructure.
Role : Data Privacy Manager
Hybrid : 2 days per week in office
Salary : £58,298 - £61,202 , plus excellent benefits
Location : West Midlands
Contract : Permanent, 37 hours per week

The role:
Data has never been more important - how we use it and how we protect it. We are embarking on an ambitious transformation programme focused on Data Driven Decisions which means the quality, security and management of our data is a key corporate priority. The organisation a Data Privacy Manager to lead the way for all things relating to data privacy and protection compliance, in accordance with legislation.
In this pivotal role you will be the subject matter expert in data/information security across the organisation. More than 20,000 customers trust the organisation to protect their personal information, and you’ll have responsibility for maintaining this trust through effectively managing all data privacy policies, procedures and training, ensuring full compliance across their 800 colleagues. They will also look to you for ideas on continuous improvements and innovative ways to enhance how we use data across our services, including the development of our new data strategy.
As this is a business critical role, you will report directly to Director level and work collaboratively across the business

Responsibilities include:

To act as the Data Protection Officer (“DPO”) for the organisation ensuring compliance with the UK GDPR and DPA and other applicable legislation by ensuring effective systems and controls are in place and that colleagues comply with their legal obligations.

Identification and risk management on all aspects of data protection compliance requirements including future requirements

Management of the Data Governance Officer

Reporting to the Group Executive, Committees and Board.
We're looking for someone who has:

Relevant professional qualification

Demonstrable recent experience in a similar role, with strong knowledge of the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and PECR

Knowledge of ISO27001

Experience in reviewing contracts and Data Processing Agreements

Experience in managing data breaches

Fully competent in the use of MS Office

Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills

The ability to work in a team environment and be supportive of others

Good numerical and written skills with excellent attention to detail

A flexible attitude with the ability to shift priorities.
