Our customer, a global law firm is looking for a Data Privacy Lawyer.
Duration: 6 months initial fixed term contract with a chance of converting permanent
Bar Licence/Qualification: E&W qualified
Geographical Location: London or Leeds (hybrid)
Key Requirements
At least 5 years of experience working on data privacy matters
At least 3 years of experience working for a top flight law firm
Happy to work in London at least 2 days per week

Summary:
The Compliance and Data Privacy Counsel is responsible for overseeing the firm’s legal, regulatory, and policy compliance efforts, with a specific focus on global data privacy compliance. This role involves analyzing legal compliance issues, providing recommendations to senior management, and assisting in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across jurisdictions. Additionally, the Counsel will serve as the primary liaison with various departments to advise on compliance and data privacy matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Chief Legal Officer and General Counsels to address compliance and data privacy concerns.
Maintain and update the firm’s compliance plans, policies, and procedures.
Act as a subject matter expert on data privacy, providing strategic legal guidance.
Stay informed about federal, state, and global privacy laws and regulations.
Provide assistance and analysis on compliance and data privacy issues to other departments.
Contribute to the development and implementation of compliance procedures.
Analyze legislative and regulatory developments to ensure compliance.
Identify and address compliance deficiencies, escalating as necessary.
Assist in training personnel on compliance obligations.
Recommend changes to compliance policies based on legal and industry standards.
