A proud equal opportunity employer, we embrace team member diversity and provide a positive and inclusive working environment for all.About the roleReporting into the Data Platform Director, the Platform Architecture team provides knowledge, expertise in all aspects of solution architecture for our cloud data platform project with a solid grasp of the IT and data strategy to support our data science and analytics community within Boots. We’re looking for someone to make the next step in their career and join us as a Solution Architect.The centralised data platform is based on a lakehouse and domain mesh architecture, centered around Microsoft Azure & Databricks technologies.You'll also be:Leading the definition, design and delivery of data products and solutions on the Data Platform.Ensuring all solution designs meet agreed requirements, align with platform strategy, principles, standards and patterns, are cost-effective, deliverable and supportable.You'll be working with technology and engineering partners and with other teams to deliver platform capabilities, allowing us to maximise the value of our data.Shape the platform roadmap, developing the architectural patterns, frameworks, and components.What you’ll need to haveProficient technical and analytical abilities and a passion for getting results for customers - internal and external.Ability to create Solution Outlines, High-level and Detailed designs to meet agreed business requirementsExperience of participating in the creation and maintenance of design patterns, standards and design blocks to facilitate wider consistency and promote re-use of design elements, delivery at pace, quality assurance and cost efficiencies.A broad and balanced understanding of IT capabilities, methods, and technologiesFamiliarity with Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Data Science and Data Engineering needs to fulfil data & analytics solutionsArchitecture experience in the cloud (Azure Storage, Databricks, Delta Lake, Lakehouse, Azure AI, ML Ops)It would be great if you also haveAppreciation of Data Security and governanceExposure of working with matrix teams of multiple vendors and global teams in the design and delivery of projectsExperience working in Retail, Pharmacy, Healthcare, Supply Chain or CPG industriesRetirement Savings PlanDiscretionary annual bonusEnhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a childAccess to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, our Employee Assistance Programme.We have a great range of benefits in addition to the above that offer flexibility to suit you - find out more at boots.jobs/rewards .
