Data Platform Engineer @ IMU Biosciences
Our immune system plays a vital role in maintaining our health and wellbeing. Understanding how it works has led to the development of some of the most innovative and exciting therapies currently revolutionizing medicine. Our mission is to understand the immune system at a new level of detail and use that knowledge to improve human health through the advancement of precision medicine, the development of diagnostics that enable earlier detection of disease, and the identification of more effective methods of targeting the immune system with tailored treatments.
We’re looking for dynamic and talented Data Platform Developers to join our growing engineering team. As part of the team you will continuously unlock new complexity and implement solutions for these. You will play a crucial role in the evolution of our high-throughput immunophenotyping and data analytics platform, and influence its future direction to maintain and expand our market fit.
At times, you will embed in multidisciplinary teams, where you'll provide your expertise with those from other fields to tackle complex and multifaceted issues. Together, you'll address cross-functional challenges, leveraging each member's unique professional knowledge to devise comprehensive and effective problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
As a Data Platform Engineer @ IMU Biosciences, you'll among other things work with:
Design and implement bespoke distributed compute platforms on AWS
, architecting high-performance pipelines for machine learning, data processing, and analytics.
Champion robust and scalable data workflows
, leveraging your orchestration expertise to integrate diverse data sources, from lab equipment and scientific instruments to external feeds.
Build and maintain a secure data warehouse in Snowflake
, ensuring the integrity, provenance, and accessibility of sensitive research data.
Collaborate with scientists, data engineers, and bioinformaticians
, translating requirements into efficient, automated workflows that empower their research.
Champion CI/CD practices and automation
, continuously optimizing deployment processes and infrastructure as code for agility and scalability.
Partake in the evolution of IMU's cloud technology stack
, actively contributing to our evolving landscape of tools and services.
Design and implement bespoke data ingestion pipelines
from lab equipment into our computation platform.
What we're looking for
We’re looking for people with strong documented experience from the following technologies:
Python Development
AWS
IMU is all about the data and the analysis thereof, so we’ll be extra keen to hear from you who in combination with excellent Software Engineering skills have experience of working with data related topics such as, but not limited to:
Workflow Orchestration platforms (Such as dagster.io)
Data Engineering
R
Pandas
Snowflake
Data Catalogs
Data Dashboarding
SQL
AI/ML
Distributed/Parallel processing
