Job Title: Data Governance Officer
Location: Kent Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, Maidstone
Salary: Grade 6: £35,026 - £39,508 per annum, depending on experience
Full time: 37 Hours per week, hybrid working available (3 days per week on site attendance)

Being a ‘Data Governance Officer’
We are looking for a Data Governance Officer to join the Data and Intelligence Team; a post created to ensure data integrity of our risk information which is used by firefighters when responding to an emergency incident, is of the highest standard.
What you’ll do
Be responsible for the premises/location data in the mobilising system and the risk database.
Be responsible for the management and correction of premises/location data across multiple systems ensuring that risk critical information is consistent and up to date.
Assess data quality issues and continuously seek improvements to policy and practices.
Create, embed and maintain a robust quality assurance process.
Maintain the base level data that underpins the incident recording system using SQL server management studio.
What you’ll bring
A comprehensive knowledge of data quality principles and practices.
Excellent verbal and written skills in order to communicate to a range of audiences and to produce written documentation that can be easily interpreted.
The ability to analyse information in order to recommend actions that are based on relevant data, meets the need of the organisation and evaluates potential risks/benefits. An exceptional eye for detail and ability to spot inconsistencies and errors.
Be a team player who contributes to the team’s activities in a positive and effective manner, building positive and effective working relationships.
An awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion issues together with a commitment to ensuring appropriate policies are implemented in the context of the duties and responsibilities associated with the post.
