The business has built an Investment Operations function that supports the centralisation of a range of activities that cover the full lifecycle of an investment fund. The Leeds team are the 'hub' of this "hub and spoke" model which involves collaborating with a team based in Mumbai as well as delivering high quality outputs to other business teams located across Europe.
The role will suit someone with a proven reporting background who is comfortable working with and manipulating complex data from various sources. Candidates should be experienced using the latest Office 365 applications. You will lead a small team of analysts in Leeds and Mumbai and will be responsible for developing and maintaining system and reporting solutions for internal business teams and to external clients. You will also act as a Subject Matter Expert to help support key business projects and change initiatives. You must be confident in communicating and presenting to a senior audience. You will be familiar with using and extracting data from a Data Warehouse and be comfortable providing suitable reporting and analysis.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
Strategic Focus
Support the Fund Solutions business teams and external clients by designing and delivering robust solutions to data requests and reporting. Provide support for Microsoft Power BI solutions to other business areas. You will work alongside the team manager and senior managers to deliver on strategic projects.
Maintain the integrity and quality of the data within the data warehouse ensuring it remains suitable for downstream reporting.
Operational Management
Ensure all client reporting is delivered accurately against agreed service levels, KPI's identified and appropriate business commentary included for sharing with key stakeholders.
Respond to enquiries promptly, proactively handling issues and striving for the highest levels of customer service.
Ensure data loads to our data warehouse in an accurate and timely fashion and is available to downstream reporting systems.
Proactively seek new and better ways of delivering reports in an accurate and timely manner.
People Leadership
Act as an SME on behalf of Data Governance and Reporting for projects throughout Fund Solutions (FS).
Assist colleagues both in the UK and Offshore in support of agreed service levels. Demonstrating ability to work collaboratively and with a strong team spirit.
Maintain accurate documentation and procedures.
Confident in training out tasks.
Ensure the team of analysts work to high standards of accuracy and maintain robust controls.
Deputise for the team manager when required.
Oversee and develop the team of analysts in UK and Mumbai for all Power BI and Reporting solutions.
Confident communicating to a senior audience.
Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
Governance & Risk
Support and review business system changes, ensuring business accuracy around all documentation.
Help maintain the integrity of data loaded to our Data Warehouse.
Work alongside the Manager to ensure robust controls are in place and adhered to.
Maintain data quality dimensions.
Experience & Personal Attributes
Essential
A degree in a data related subject or demonstratable experience for the role.
Confident working with sophisticated data models and a good understanding of analytical techniques.
Experience of building data-driven business solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
Strong customer service skills.
Proven Ability to proactively solve problems and work on own initiative.
Collaboration skills, and evidence of working well within a team environment.
Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to process and handle large volumes of complex data.
Produce and process documentation accurately.
Able to lead a team and act as mentor for Junior team members.
Ability to build and maintain Power BI reports.
Familiar with testing methods.
Working knowledge of SQL and data retrieval.
Transform business requests into data driven solutions.
Data visualisation techniques.
Desirable
Knowledge of UK fund legislation and Fund Administration.
Relevant regulatory exams (e.g., Investment Operations Certificate).
Experience of Azure cloud-based databases.
