As a Barclays Data Architect, you will be required to deliver Fraud Tech target state Data Architecture. You will be equipped with a range of data-related disciplines often focused on depicting the interaction of systems and the data that flows between them. What will you be doing?
Supporting Data initiatives and Architecture Cloud Strategy across the Bank
Working closely with CTO, CDO and other Data Architects in order to deliver data quality at highest standards
Taking accountability for designing, sustaining & enhancing Fraud data architecture
Ensuring the product design meets the Group Data Architecture Capabilities
Ensuring Master and Reference Data Management Standards are baked into product design
Ensuring data is integrated across the Fraud Tech landscape and moved in a controlled and consistent manner
Ensuring that data is protected including access management, obfuscation and encryption to the level required in each case, taking into account Regulatory and Legal requirements
Defining metadata management including data lineage
What we’re looking for:
Solid grasp of user requirement gathering to define data flow, data model and design
Proficiency in communicating data standards and demonstrating their value to the wider audience
Knowledge of the basic features of Relational database and NoSQL, including primary and foreign key constraints and indexes
Experience in ETL, APIs, various data formats (JSON, Avro, Parquet, SAS) and experience in documenting / maintaining interface inventories
Skills that will help you in the role:
Educated to degree or MBA level to be able to meet the intellectual demands of the job, or can demonstrate equivalent experience
Good grasp of distributed systems and databases
Knowledge of PCI DSS and PA DSS
Familiar with at least one industry standard data design tool (e.g. EA Sparks, ERWIN, ER Studio)
Where will you be working?Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff. The office location is perfect for travel from the midlands and London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
