Continuing VRM’s data led journey and recognising the importance the D&BI team performs in this regard, we are looking for a skilled Data Architect.VRM is a highly data driven part of the business. They use a powerful, mission critical ecosystem of Data and BI systems for analytics and decision making. Primarily Data Warehouse/Mart, Data Lake, Self Service BI Tools and Data Science/ML platform using Oracle, Snowflake and AWS tech stack. VRM are also excited about the possibilities of AI/ML and real use cases are starting to appear.We are looking for a skilled architect who:drives solutions with a business value focussed mentalityhas both strategic and good level of hands on focusis comfortable working with varied non-technical and technical team members like business/end users, product owners, managers, heads of functions, project managers, scrum masters, engineering teams etc. Can lead, influence and drive collaboration across team members and stakeholders from various disciplines, resolve conflicts and can lead the build of practical and timely solutions that deliver value to the businesscan easily translate between business and technical speak without loss of substance and can tailor communication depending on target audiencecan architecturally drive, design, drive, support and expand VRM’s Data, BI and AI/ML systems to very high standards (short, medium and long term), using existing and new technologies. Ultimately ensuring VRM have the best systems and tools to be very data driven now and in the future. The role would cover end to architecture, especially systems, integration and information (data modelling) architecturecan technically work closely and effectively work with the Tech Lead, Lead Data Engineer and Principal Architect, Data engineers and Software Engineers (Source App/OLTP)is skilled in the requirements gathering phase. Assists BAs, POs and business and provides guidance on the kind of
requirements/information
that needs to be gathered to build a successful technical solution/systemcan deep dive into requirements where appropriate, esp. for new and complex casescan deep dive technically where appropriate, esp. for new and complex casescan run design and technical forums and can represent the team, present and get approvals in various architectural and technical forumscan be practical and ensure timely delivery while building re-usable patterns and solutions that are supportable and can be easily enhanced and also retain longer term strategic directionhas good technical skills in the Oracle stack, Snowflake, AWS (key services), CICD and release/support practices and strategiesABOUT YOUSolid understanding of data pipeline/ELT development, SQ, including performance tuningExperience and solid understanding of end-to-end Data Warehouse, Data Lake and BI design and delivery at scale (high level and detailed) and various architectural strategiesSolid information architecture skills/experience: Data ingestions, and Data Warehouse and Data Lake modelling experience (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Data Vault etc.)Past hands-on development experience in at least one enterprise analytics database like
Oracle/Terradata/SQL
