The Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Data Analyst
for a new role in our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of complex data migration projects for Quality Risk Security (QRS) moving all applications on the database to a new infrastructure. You will analyse data, identify trends and provide expertise on data to business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have Business Analyst skills, work independently but also be a team player working closely with the team.
Deliverables
Areas to increase efficiency and automation of processes.
Up and maintain automated data processes.
Evaluate, and implement external services and tools to support data validation and cleansing.
Track key performance indicators.
Support reporting processes.
Audit data quality with internal clients to fully understand data content.
Understand, and document detailed business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques.
Analyse large datasets, draw valid inferences, and present them successfully to management using a reporting tool.
Required Skills/Experience
Analyst and Business Analyst
with
data migration program experience
(e.g., on-prem to cloud migration, automation from Excel to ERP, context server, database management, data migration solution)
Strong analytical skills
with the ability to handle large and complex datasets,
Stakeholder Management
– Strong communication skills with ability to translate and present the technical requirements to QRS and senior stakeholders.
Must have SQL
experience – understand how the date is structured and segregated.
Proficient in
data modelling
and mapping tools (i.e., Visio)
Knowledge of various
data formats
and the ability to work with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data (*pdf, *jpeg – potential document types that support our client’s independent checks, such as copies of their identification, legal doc, etc.)
Excellent
documentation skills
- attention to detail including
AS IS
data points and usage to a documented map of all the applications (i.e., capture and document data flows, data attributes, data types and values). Document the
synergies
between all the projects and ensure no duplication. Document data owners now and post migration.
Architecture
- Support the Data Architect in executing project’s Data Migration Strategies and Playbook.
Solution design
- Produce
TO BE
designs of how data points can be migrated to a
new solution , data migration orchestration and
ETL
(extraction, curation, transformation logics).
Advise on
data cleansing
activities - resolve any data anomalies and prepare data mapping.
Conduct
data quality checks
to ensure the integrity and accuracy of migrated data. Identify, analyse, and resolve data discrepancies or issues, or escalate them to the appropriate team during the data migration process.
Deliver insight on the data dependencies across multiple Global/NSE/UK projects,
Work with the Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, and reporting consultant to
provide guidance
on data migration activities and reporting requirements.
Able to work independently in a remote team environment.
Collaborate cross-geography and cross-cultures
to develop relationships - communicate effectively with diverse groups, global/offshore teams. Work with diverse teams within an
inclusive team culture
where people are recognised for their contribution.
Work with Project Managers and Business Analysts to
deliver analysis activities
in a timely fashion, ensuring optimal quality and a focus on user experience.
Desirable (not required)
Team Management and leadership
– able to drive team delivery and engagement. Previous training/mentoring skills of upskilling is desirable.
Team player
mindset – able to work with diverse and international teams, understand and adapt to cultures. Drive the team delivery. Expected to meet the team in London once a month for a team day.
