Data Analyst – York– flexible hybrid working- £45,000 - £55,000 DoEJob Description:Our client, are looking for financial systems data analysts to join their Finance Data Systems Analysts Team. The ideal applicant will be results driven professional with good investigative and written communication skills to join the reconciliation and reporting team. You would need to be able to review issues found by the business and the automated reconciliation systems, interrogate the data and by liaising with stakeholders and identify and document the root cause of the issue and then follow up until the problem is resolved. Candidates should be able to develop strong working relationships with business stakeholders and technicians working with them not just on current needs, but also identifying future innovations and technologies to drive improvement in data quality and reporting.Technical Job Description:The role requires ‘hands on’ investigation of technical data and will involve working closely with internal and external delivery teams, infrastructure and 3rd party application teams to support. There will also be an element of development of their reconciliation and reporting environments. You will be responsible for the analysis, root cause and solution definition processes which will require you to:Conduct data interrogation activities across a number of SQL data instancesProduce high quality deliverables, including materiality analysis and defect storiesBuild strong productive relationships with the business, IT teams and external 3rd parties to leverage their knowledge and skill to assist in your analysis.Act as a focus for questions related to business usage of systems within your sphere of influence.Support the system and UAT test teams, helping with understanding of the change and reviewing test cases to ensure full coverage.Support the on-going development of the Data Analyst function, having input to the standards, procedures, and knowledge transfer processes.Adheres to the IT System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards and methodology and support delivery activities of full project life cycle, from inception to BAU handoverMust have:3 -5+ years Data Analysis experience either as a data analyst, test analyst or developer in an MS SQL and/or AZURE environment.2+ years exposure to one or more of the following disciplines: Solution Design, Data Warehouse, Modelling and Business Intelligence experienceExperience of Microsoft SQL Server technologies, or other SQL variantsUnderstanding and passion for data qualityAn ability to explain technical data issues and concepts to business stakeholders and senior management using business terminologyBeneficialExperience of using Jira, Confluence, MS Teams or similar collaboration toolsExperience of data/system integration and a strong ability to identify dependencies.Experience operating within an agile and hybrid development environment.Exposure to large scale
projects/programmes
