Description
My client is an award-winning media procurement agency, providing print, marketing, creative and digital solutions. They're currently looking to bolster the business with the addition of a Data Analyst.
This is a new position, created within the business due to the realization that the correct interpretation of data can provide huge benefits to the company.
Within the role you'll gather data across all business areas - including finance, client services, sales, and studio teams. You'll be responsible for interrogating, analysing, and translating results into easily digestible business reports - helping to make informed decisions, improve processes, efficiency, and margins within the business.
The Role
- To work with a variety of data sources primarily a Print MIS system - extracting knowledge and actionable information from massive datasets
- Build and flesh out data models from the Print MIS database for use in regular and/or automated reporting and analysis.
- Using tools and techniques to visualise data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs for management.
- Support various areas of the business including the finance department and client services department with ad hoc and month end reporting.
- Preparing reports and presenting these to management and clients
- Be a passionate problem solver - breaking down problems and developing analytical insights.
- Convey your work and results to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate operations for inefficiencies and identify areas where you can create, automate, and develop tools (SQL-based or otherwise)
- Using data to predict trends in the customer base and the consumer population.
- Diagnose data-related bugs and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner.
- Monitoring data quality and removing corrupt data.
- Continuously strive for a deeper understanding of our business drivers
The Person
- 2+ years supporting business operations in analytics capacity.
- A love for insights, innate curiosity, and a deep desire to find ways to create value.
- Solid communication skills
- Passion for automation
- Comfort in a complex data environment and understanding of data structures.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI and Excel (Experience with SQL is a plus, but not expected)
- Experience with some sense of data visualization (ideally Izenda)
- Familiarity with transactional and data warehouse environments (highly advantageous)
- Formulate the right questions versus just seeking answers to make sure the best and smartest decisions get made.
- Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers and clients.
This is a part time role, 20 hours a week.
