Position Available: Cyber Security Engineer
Location: Whitefield, Manchester
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Overview:
We are a dynamic Fintech company based in Whitefield, Manchester, at the forefront of innovation in the financial technology sector. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding our systems, data, and infrastructure from potential threats, ensuring the security and integrity of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Security Infrastructure Management:
Maintain and enhance our security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security tools. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement. Implement and configure security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber attacks.
Incident Response and Threat Management:
Develop and implement incident response procedures to effectively address security breaches and cyber threats. Monitor systems for suspicious activity and promptly investigate and mitigate security incidents. Stay informed about the latest cyber threats and security trends, and proactively take measures to mitigate risks.
Security Policy Development and Compliance:
Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with relevant data protection laws, regulations, and standards, such as GDPR and PCI DSS. Provide guidance and support to internal teams on security-related matters and best practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience working in a Cyber Security Engineer role or similar position. Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and technologies. Experience with security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and encryption. Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks and standards, particularly in the financial services sector. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate security risks effectively. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+) would be advantageous. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
