Salary �25,000 - �28,000 per annum

Talent84 are delighted to be supporting our global manufacturing client with their search for a Customs and Shipping Administrator. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of import customs clearance with some exposure to international and domestic freight.

Reporting to the Head of Shipping and Logistics, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a key role in ensuring all documentation is compliant and maintaining the timely and cost effective delivery of goods,

Responsibilities

• Gather data from multiple suppliers for import customs clearance


• Inspect customs invoices to maintain accuracy


• Liaise with suppliers for documentation amendments where necessary


• Act as first point of contact for hauliers and agents for customs clearance


• Classify items within the UK global tariff code in accordance with the rules of interpretation


• Come to appropriate customs valuation based on the methods of valuation


• Apply preference to import customs entries as required


• Arrange shipments to and from third party contractors


• Organise export shipping documentation such as customs invoice, packing list, certificate of origin


• Prepare dangerous goods notes


• Book export shipments via online portals

Key Criteria

• Experience of CDS/Chief for imports


• Demonstrable understanding of import customs processing


• Proficient in Microsoft office


• Enthusiastic, team player


• Willingness to learn and grow skillset


• Able to work to deadlines and prioritise workload
