Description:
We are seeking highly qualified and experienced Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to collaborate with our team at a newly established online higher education college. As an SME, you will play a pivotal role in developing the curriculum for various academic programs, with a specific focus
on graduate degrees in Communication and Media (the programs).
This is a one-time project with a deadline of six weeks from the signing of the contract.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
Work closely with the instructional designer and academic team to develop a comprehensive curriculum for the Program.
Conduct thorough research to identify learning objectives, outcomes, and industry standards relevant to the program.
Design detailed course outlines outlining topics, subtopics, and learning activities.
Develop engaging learning modules incorporating multimedia elements, interactive exercises, and real-world case studies.
Create assessment strategies, including quizzes, assignments, projects, and exams, to measure student learning outcomes effectively.
Collaboration and Communication:
Participate in regular meetings with the instructional designer and academic team to discuss project progress, address challenges, and make decisions.
Provide timely updates on tasks and deliverables, seeking clarification or guidance as needed.
Communicate effectively and professionally with team members using various channels, including email, video conferencing, and project management software.
Feedback and Revision:
Incorporate feedback from the academic team and stakeholders into curriculum drafts during two rounds of revisions.
Address comments, suggestions, and concerns raised by reviewers, ensuring alignment with project objectives and requirements.
Maintain version control and document changes made to curriculum materials throughout the revision process.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that curriculum materials meet quality standards, including accuracy, clarity, and relevance to learning objectives.
Review content for consistency, coherence, and logical progression of concepts and ideas.
Verify compliance with copyright restrictions and accessibility guidelines for online learning materials.
Collaboration Process:
Work remotely and communicate effectively with the instructional designer and academic team members.
Utilize various communication channels and collaboration tools as needed, such as video conferencing, project management software, and email.
Support and Resources:
Access to research databases, online libraries, and subject matter experts will be provided to support curriculum development.
Training or orientation sessions will be available to familiarize SMEs with the institution's mission, values, and educational philosophy.
Compensation and Payment Terms:
Freelancers are invited to propose their best and most competitive bid for the project.
The financial proposal will be evaluated based on 40% of the final assessment in comparison to the lowest offer received.
Expectations for Deliverables:
Phase 1: Initial drafts of curriculum materials, including course outlines and learning modules.
Phase 2: Revised drafts addressing feedback from the academic team and stakeholders.
Phase 3: Finalized curriculum materials ready for implementation.
