Are you planning professional with experience of leading the development of strategies and/or plans over multiple areas? if so this may be the ideal role for you. In this role you will directly support the Director of Strategic Planning and Performance, working collaboratively with senior colleagues, through the development, co-ordination, and management of the university strategic planning and performance framework which underpins delivery of the university strategy and KPIs. You will deliver impactful and insightful management information, performance benchmarking and competitor analysis which provides a reliable evidence-base to help inform strategic decision making by the senior management team. You will also lead on and seek to connect relevant activities and projects, attending appropriate Committees and meetings (eg University project board(s)). This is a role that requires a breadth of experience and an ability to deal with sensitive and often confidential matters in a professional manner across a range of student, staff and partner stakeholder interests.As Head of Planning you can expect to be involved in the following: Lead on the development and implementation of a revised integrated planning and performance framework across the university which underpins the delivery of our strategyLead widespread engagement with colleagues across the University at multiple levels to ensure Divisional/Departmental plans and resources join up and are fully connected (i.e. “integrated plans”) across finance, workforce planning, academic areas and professional services.Oversee the end-to-end student number planning process ensuring appropriate interfaces between strategic, operational and technical elements.Undertake relevant research and horizon scanning to understand policy, market, and customer shifts, evaluating the institutional competitive position, modelling outcome scenarios for Kent and converting data into the insight which informs strategic decision making, producing reports relating to strategy development, implementation and performance on behalf of the Director of Strategic PlanningWhat will you bring to the role?A planning background, with solid experience of leading the development of strategies and/or plans across multiple dimensionsExperience in stakeholder management including up to Executive Group level and prepared to act as “critical friend” at this level Strong leadership skills, being prepared to guide, intervene, challenge and promote best practice solutions that will improve the University The ability and desire to initiate change/set the agenda across a complex, diverse organisation as well as being flexible and able to adapt to changing prioritiesWhat we can offer in return:As a member of our team you can expect a friendly, open and collaborative working environment and support in your development and wellbeing.
