Job DescriptionCrude Trading Analyst£90,000 - £110,000 + Bonus + Benefits The Trading Analyst will report into the Head of Trading and Operations, this role is to support the supply and trading desks with market leading analysis and relevant data for all products. The role is varied and interacts with operations, finance and trading teams and includes tasks such as:Responsibilities will include:Undertaking analysis of client and market data to assist in developing and executing tradesData entry including physical purchases/sales, hedges, freight and logistics costs, any other additional cost related to each transactionCargo Tracking including the setup, maintenance and improvement of a “cargo tracking” excel sheet (vessels b/l, destination, ws rate)P&L reconciliation - dealing with Middle Office where requiredMarket analysis (supply and demand, global crack spreads, margins)The production of internal trading activity reportsDaily updating of internal excel sheets, reflecting the market structure (time spreads)Arb and crack calculations.Tracking refinery turnaroundsRisk management and market monitoringDealing with shipping team, other trading desks and the crude oil team in Asia as instructed by tradersDealing with counterparties as instructed by tradersAdherence to internal company policies and procedures, ensuring that appropriate records are maintained for internal and external compliance inspections, planning analysis and audit processes Undertake other duties, commensurate to the role in the development of my client's crude oil business in the regionRequirementBachelor’s degree or equivalent in the following disciplines preferred: Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Maths, or PhysicsPossess strong quantitative and programming skillsDemonstrable drive, innovation and a genuine interest in energy tradingAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft OfficeFlexibility to operate in challenging environmentOrganized and have good attention to detailAbility to work in a results-oriented environment and capable of working under pressure and to tight deadlinesExcellent interpersonal communication and customer relationship skillsEffective customer service skills
