We are a Legal 500 and Chambers UK recommended firm who are currently recruiting a Duty Solicitor to join our Crime Team in our South East London office. This is a full-time position with the successful candidate being part of a dynamic and growing team.You will be responsible for:Representing clients detained at police stationsHandling own caseload of criminal defence cases across a full range of different offencesConducting advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court including summary trials (and Crown Court hearings if the candidate has Higher Rights)About you:Solicitors with at least 1 year’s PQE in criminal mattersCrime duty accreditation is preferred but not essential, although the successful candidate will be expected to obtain this accreditation if they do not already have itExcellent communication and advocacy skillsIT proficiencyAbility to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervisionDemonstrates a pragmatic, professional and positive approachHave a passion for publically funded workAttention to detail and the confidence to work independently as well as in a teamExcellent client and team building skillsIT proficiencyAbility to work to tight deadlines and remain calm whilst under pressureYou will receive a positive and supportive working environment with a team that prides themselves on promoting from within, exposure to industry specialists and a fantastic opportunity to start or continue your development in an award-winning law firm.This salary for this role is depending on experience.
