Company Overview:
My client is a leading Claims Management business specialising in Unaffordable Lending market, specifically claiming back money for consumers who has been wrongly sold credit cards and other forms of credit.
As a dynamic and growth-oriented organisation, they are seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join their team and contribute to their mission.
Position Overview: The Credit Controller will play a crucial role in managing and controlling the credit function within our organisation by receiving payments from clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit control and should be able to demonstrate their success by reducing bad debt within their past role.
The candidate will report to The Head of Credit Control and have dealings with the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain credit control policies and procedures.
Monitor and manage debtor accounts to ensure timely payment and reduce outstanding balances.
Communicate with clients and debtors regarding outstanding balances and payment arrangements.
Conduct regular credit assessments to identify potential risks and implement preventive measures.
Provide clear and empathetic explanations of the credit control process and address client inquiries related to unaffordable lending claims.
Constantly thinking of new ways to ensure the debt level remains as low as possible.
Progress matters to court through an escalation process for unpaid invoices.
Collaborate with legal and claims management teams to gather necessary information for assessing the validity of claims.
Work towards resolving outstanding balances by negotiating settlements or payment plans.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credit control activities.
Generate regular reports on credit control performance, outstanding balances, and claim resolutions.
Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, finance, and claims management, to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.
Liaise with external stakeholders, such as financial institutions and regulatory bodies, as needed.
Experience/Skills:
Proven experience in credit control, preferably in the financial services or claims management industry.
Demonstrable experience in lowering bad debt levels in a business.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and the legal system.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Details of package:
30,000 per annum with a 10% ( 3,000) bonus paid quarterly ( 750 per quarter)
