If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our leading, well respected water technologies company, where you will play a pivotal role in controlling workflow and ensuring effective collection of outstanding debt in order to minimise the level of bad debt. Some more brief responsibilities of a Credit Controller are:
Review workload to achieve the desired result and review performance against plan.
Management of Accounts Receivable and maintenance of 2000 accounts for PW/LWG/BCS, using the automated collection tool Sidetrade
Regularly review the overdue reports and functions of the sales ledger and Collections sections.
Analyse and recommend corrective action for problems affecting payment.
Weekly and period reporting reviewed for accuracy, produced within specified time-scales and potential areas of concern are highlighted prior to distribution to Credit Manager.
Ensure Sales Ledger movements reconcile with General Ledger each period.
Review applications for credit, assess credit worthiness and once satisfied, grant appropriate credit facilities within agreed authority level.
Ensure the effective collection of debt up to and including recovery through the County Court with the minimum cost to the business whilst upholding the customer service policies.
Process and allocate payments received from Barclays ensuring receipts are applied to the correct invoices.
Regularly review unallocated cash balances with Cashier to ensure their legitimacy .
Conduct credit 'health checks' on external companies, and make appropriate recommendations as to their creditworthiness when requested.
Oversee the period end routines to ensure the successful closedown of Sales Ledger and maintenance of the company address book.
Liaise with all Business Unit Controllers and other stakeholders within the group on a regular basis.
Observe and ensure that all Group Policies, Procedures and SOX are carried out within the Department to ensure the department runs effectively and efficiently to maintain service levels and minimise debt risk.
General requirements for the role:
Previous finance or administrative experience (within credit control).
Must have a detailed understanding of credit control.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
Strong IT skills - experience of Google suite would be an advantage.
Knowledge of JDE Latis would be preferable.
Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative.
