Credit Controller

Our client, a well-known brand within their industry, who specialises in distribution of their goods is looking for a new permanent team member to join a busy accounts team in Portsmouth.  

You will have previous experience in credit control, dealing with a high-volume work load and working at a fast pace.

The company would like someone to hit the ground running but will give good training on the inhouse system used as well as Access.

The team are relatively small in size so every team member really counts and working well with others is key.

Duties will include…

• Answering calls into the accounts dept providing an excellent customer service dealing enquiries and account queries.
• Process payments and the sending of receipts of payment.
• Discuss and make decisions about credit extensions for customer future orders or that exceeds agreed limits.
• Monitor, control and aim to reduce aged debtors.
• Communicate in all ways to chase or recover debt and maintain files of communication relating to customers accounts.
• Escalate debtors for debt recovery and monitor
• Check new accounts, complete applications, credit check and send letters of acceptance and limits or decline.
• Complete statement runs monthly
• Liaise with internal teams to make sure invoicing is correct and understand circumstances around an account.

Experience/Skills Required

• A minimum of 1 year+ credit control experience
• Can work to a fast pace
• Adaptable and can-do attitude
• Able to work as part of a team
• Keen to learn in a role and adapt to ways that work within the business currently

Working Hours

Monday to Friday - 9-5pm
