Contract: Full-time, permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Hybrid working (4 days office/1 day WFH)

Our client based in Guildford in looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join a small and friendly finance team.

You will be responsible for overseeing the collection of revenue from customers on accounts to maximize revenue and mitigate any credit risk.

Key tasks and duties:

  • Uploading of new customers, including the appropriate credit checks, international and banking compliance checks on all new customers, and request credit limits from the bank.
  • Chasing outstanding debts including producing regular statements to customers, specifically notifying customers of soon-to-be-due invoices
  • Banking all incoming customer cash into the circa 30+ bank accounts
  • Weekly production of the aged accounts analysis for the Directors
  • Reporting any overdue debt to HSBC to ensure that our credit protection is maintained in the event of a customer defaulting.
  • Improve and implement debt collection processes when there are any overdue invoices or payments and escalate any bad debts to the Directors.
  • Approving requests to release orders.
  • Assisting with general accounting responsibilities within the finance team.

Requirements:

  • Good IT skills (Microsoft programs)
  • Experience using Navision or Sage (desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent communication skills in being able to communicate upwards & at all levels
  • Good numeracy skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Confident and professional manner
  • Ability to work as part of team
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own workload
  • Proactive in being able to follow up on tasks
  • Interacting and working with customers
  • SME experience
  • Working with foreign currency
