Adata-led digitalcost consultancy and an authority on theeconomics of sustainability, combining alinea’s distinctive approach, Turner & Townsend’s leading digital platform andour combined talent.Supported by our clear vision to disrupt the market by transforming service quality through a strong focus on cost advice, a platform of specialists and apersonable approach.This unique environmentprovides an opportunity for our people to develop their skills as well as their careers, supported by access toa learning and development programme that is second to none.A unique joint force that will disrupt real estate cost management in LondonA data and digital led business, with an authority on the economics of sustainability, that will take our service to the next levelA wide, diverse and exciting portfolio of sectors and clients, which means we will be stronger togetherMarket leading practice that is focused on transforming performance and creating great results for our Clients and People, in a fun and exciting environment where people are proud to workA strong strategic and cultural fit with an ingrained entrepreneurial spiritYou can realise your career ambitions faster with London’s cost consultancy of choiceTurner & Townsend alinea is currently recruiting for a Cambridge based Cost Manager or Senior Cost Manager to join ourReal Estate team.Commission Management, to include:• Conducting feasibility studies and writing procurement reports• Applying Value Management techniques at the outset of a project and where appropriate involving Turner & Townsend’s specialist Value Management team• Managing estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan• Managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including pre-qualification, inquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively• Ensuring that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively• Ensuring that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively• Ensuring the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client• Value engineering and life cycle costing• Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed• Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages• Where appropriate, leading a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities Marketing and business development, to include:• Taking responsibility for developing new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients• Identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities• Working with Associate Directors and Directors to construct bids for new work• Attending ‘beauty parades’ with Assistant Directors and Directors• Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates and products and hence improve the service provided to clients Internal management accountabilities, to include:• Staff management (where appropriate) – Inputting into the formal management of an Assistant Cost Manager or small cost management team, to include 1st round recruitment interviews, input into resource management and attendance at junior staff appraisalsIdeally Degree qualified in one of the following fields: construction, cost management or Quantity surveyingIdeally MRICSGood knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineeringOur inspired people share our vision and mission.
