Cost Accountant

Resourcery Group are looking for an experienced accountant with strong costing experience for our manufacturing client. This is a temporary role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. This is a full time role which is site based initially 4 days per week in the early days of the role with the potential to drop to 3 once you are up to speed with the business.Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our client's team. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analysing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to assist in decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and possess excellent analytical skills.Duties:- Analyse cost variances and provide explanations for any discrepancies- Prepare and maintain cost accounting records and reports- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy of cost data- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cost control measures- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts- Monitor stock/inventory levels and reconcile any discrepancies- Perform month-end closing activities related to cost accounting- Provide support during external auditsSkills:- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles- CIMA/ACCA/ACA/QBE accountant- Proficiency in ERP systems ideally- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills- Solid Excel skills- Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis- Strong organizational and time management skills- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
