Job DescriptionCost AccountantAre you experienced in manufacturing?Have you worked as a Management Accountant or in a similar role before?Are you a qualified accountant?MacGregor Black is thrilled to collaborate with an FMCG business in their pursuit of a Cost Accountant. This role is permanent and situated in Cookstown, Ireland.The Cost Accountant will hold a crucial position, providing accurate and timely financial information to support operations and senior management, driving enhancements throughout the business.Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role entails close cooperation with various departments to ensure efficient production processes and optimal financial performance.Key Responsibilities:Yield Information Production: Generating daily, weekly, and monthly yield information for the site's monthly Continuous Improvement (CI) review pack.Labour Reporting: Reviewing daily, weekly, and monthly labour reporting, scrutinising variances against expected kg per man hour and standard department overtime. Producing a monthly labour pack for inclusion in the site's monthly CI review.Downtime Reporting: Assessing downtime logs completed by Operation managers for inclusion in the site's monthly CI review.Financial Accounts Preparation: Assisting in the preparation and completion of monthly financial accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.Financial Data Analysis: Analysing and interpreting financial data to propose changes for enhancing financial performance and operational efficiency.Ad-hoc Duties: Undertaking any other duties deemed necessary to support the finance function and business operations.Key Accountabilities:Production of daily, weekly, and monthly yield information for the site's monthly CI review pack.Review of daily, weekly, and monthly labour reporting, scrutinising variances against expected kg per man hour and standard department overtime.Reviewing downtime reporting, ensuring accuracy and completeness of logs completed by Operation managers.Assisting in the preparation and completion of monthly financial accounts.Analysing and interpreting financial data to propose changes for improving financial performance.Undertaking any other duties deemed necessary to support the finance function and business operations.What are we looking for?A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.Previous experience in cost accounting or a similar role within a manufacturing environment is advantageous.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and recommend improvements.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.Competitive salary + benefits.Please contact Carl Maw for more information today.
