What we are looking for:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Account Director to join our well-established strategic communications consultancy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in corporate communications, with strong client-handling skills and a good record of delivery. Candidates will need to be well versed in UK and international media, with a passion for how financial performance drives corporate reputation. As an Account Director, you will be responsible for overseeing client accounts, developing strategic communications campaigns, providing expert insight, and fostering strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment and play a key role in new business generation and expanding our client portfolio. You will report directly to the Managing Director of Seven Dials City, so this is a role which requires an ambitious, smart, and capable individual.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage client accounts by providing expert client counsel and strategic thinking.
Develop and execute innovative integrated communications campaigns that align with client objectives and target audiences.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, the business media and key opinion formers, serving as the main point of contact.
Develop corporate narrative and messaging frameworks using your knowledge of global issues that impact business.
Collaborate with internal teams and the wider Together Group colleagues, including writers, designers, marketers, and digital experts to deliver integrated communications solutions.
Monitor and analyse client reputations, and campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for delivery.
Identify new business opportunities and lead the development of proposals and pitches.
Cultivate relationships with prospective clients, conduct meetings and presentations, and negotiate contracts.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in PR and communications.
Requirements:
Minimum of 4+ years of experience gained in an agency environment or managing a busy in-house press office.
Experience in strategic financial communications (financial calendar, M&A, capital markets activity etc.) would be a distinct advantage, as would an understanding of ESG and responsible investing frameworks.
Proven track record of successfully leading corporate and financial PR campaigns and delivering measurable results.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective communication strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships, with a customer-centric approach.
Deep understanding of the media landscape, with strong journalist and key opinion former connections.
Highly knowledgeable in geopolitics, business, current affairs, and finance.
Experience in new business development, including lead generation, proposal writing, and pitching.
