Job DescriptionCopy ExpertSalary: Circa £35,000This is an exciting time to join our Legal, Regulatory & Mandatory (LRM) team within Nationwide’s Customer, Brand & Engagement function, as we redefine how we engage and communicate with our customers.The team is responsible for our LRM communications across a mix of print and digital channels for all account types within Nationwide. As we continue to develop and roll out our new, modern, member -focussed brand, your role will be integral to how we transform our most critical customer communications.Reporting to the LRM Communications Manager, you’ll use your communications expertise and copy writing experience to turn, often complex, messages into clear, engaging, customer-focussed communications that go beyond simply meeting our regulatory requirements.At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.What you’ll be doingWorking with the LRM team and key stakeholders across the business, you’ll be responsible for developing meaningful content, informed through behavioural science and psychology, that results in positive financial outcomes for our customers.As well as producing brilliant content yourself, you’ll play a key role in training colleagues and evaluating a wide range of communications developed by multiple business areas – ensuring only those of the highest quality reach our customers.This includes, interrogating business requirements, proposing and developing compelling, accurate and easily understood customer communications and ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.About youYou have copywriting experience within financial services communications and the regulatory environment. Please submit two to three examples of your writing portfolio with your CV.You’re passionate about creating brilliant, insight-led customer communications that achieve great customer outcomes.You have the confidence to work with colleagues from across the business, calling on regulatory and product expertise to inform and validate the solutions you recommend.You'll collaborate with other copy writers from across the business to ensure the LRM communications you develop are fully integrated and joined up across all channels and touch points.An expert critical thinker, you’ll be quick to understand and break down complex information to get to the heart of the customer and business outcomes we need to achieve.With a sound understanding of the principles of copy and design, you can write and oversee communications that are easy to understand and follow, that anticipate and answer customer needs and deliver a positive brand experience that deepens our customer relationships.You have experience of applying behavioural science or psychology to your writing. If you are already creating communications that prompt a specific outcome from your audience, it’s likely you’re already applying Behavioural Science to what you do. Plus, we offer training in how to apply Behavioural Science to financial communications, so don’t let a lack of Behavioural Science knowledge be a barrier.You are also:Skilled in managing multiple priorities and expectations, and able to work independently, escalating where needed.Able to confidently influence and make decisions, passionately owning the quality of the communications you produce.Collaborative and a natural relationship builder – you’ll quickly engender trust among your internal and external stakeholders.Able to articulate ideas clearly and effectively, drawing on evidence to support your recommendations and you impart your knowledge to colleagues in an engaging and effective way.Our Customer First behaviours are all about putting customers and members at the heart of how we work together.
