As one of our Cooks, you'll be responsible for preparing nutritious, delicious meals while ensuring kitchen operations adhere to health and safety standards.48.6 weeks per year.25 hours per week.Monday - Friday (9am 2pm)Salary: £20,850 23,140 pro rata per annumMenu Planning - Collaborate with the team to plan menus within the designated budget and ensure they meet the dietary needs of all service users.Meal Preparation - Prepare, cook, and serve meals, snacks, and desserts in accordance with the set menus.Regulatory Compliance - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and comply with Food Hygiene Regulations and Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) standards.Stock Management - Manage kitchen inventory, check the quality and quantity of received goods, and liaise with suppliers regarding discrepancies.Kitchen Hygiene - Oversee the cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas to maintain hygiene and health and safety standards.Safety Practices - Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate clothing and completing necessary safety documentation.Team Collaboration - Work closely with Support Workers to understand and cater to the specific dietary needs of learners.Professional Development - Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance kitchen services and personal culinary skills.If you're passionate about cooking and want to contribute to a community where every meal matters, we encourage you to apply.Requirements This role involves menu planning, meal preparation, and kitchen maintenance, ensuring all dietary requirements are met with respect to individual needs.Certifications - Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required. NVQ Level II in Food Preparation is desirable.Experience - Proven experience in a kitchen environment, particularly in preparing meals for large numbers. Knowledge of special diets and food safety (HACCP) is highly desirable.Skills - Strong interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
