Cook (Care Home)

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Cook to work with a Nottingham-based Local Authority on a temporary basis. This is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week between the hours of 8:30am – 4pm. The role is based within a residential care home and the successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check for this post.

Main Duties:

• To carry  out preparation of vegetables and  other basic food preparation.


• Responsible for the washing up of pans, utensils and crockery.


• Cleaning of equipment and premises as part of the cleaning rota.


• Packaging, delivery and assisting with service of food to citizens.


• Working with due regards for own personal safety and that of others within the establishment.


• Work within the parameters of Food Hygiene Legislation.


• To adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.


• To work on own initiative, unsupervised whilst carrying out duties.

Essential Criteria:

• Previous experience as a Cook/Chef within a health and social care environment (Local Authority/NHS/School/Care Home/etc.).


• Food Hygiene certificate.


• Enhanced DBS Certificate.


• Understanding of healthy cooking principles.
